OnePlus company are keen to enter the Indian markets, most likely they will be in the market by end of 2014 (December). For India specific markets, OnePlus has revealed that they will be coming up with invite system for consumers in India.

 

They call it the Indian Specific invites that will work in India. As you all know OnePlus one had launched the pre-orders system wherein one would not require any invite they can confirm the order today. The Pre-order window will be active only for an hour, however for now you cannot get the handset shipped into India, you can however use the PPObox services.

There are many in India who are interested in buying this killer flag ship model. The key issue was that the India was not in the shipping list and Indian users would opt for PPObox to get the handset delivered in India.

But now OnePlus is looking forward to working with local partners in India so users can get a hands on and Indian users can buy the product via invitation that will be especially active in India. Releasing date of Android 5.0 Lollipop for All Smartphones

Android Lollipop is now out in the open and it includes a hat full of new features, a visual overhaul and numerous under-the-hood improvements to make if faster, more efficient and lighter on your battery, but while we know all about it, it's not yet available for public consumption. Even once it does launch it will be down to individual manufacturers to port it to their devices, so chances are you'll still be waiting a while to get it on your phone and tablet (unless you've gone full Nexus already) and most companies haven't yet been all that forthcoming with details of when they'll bring it to their phones and tablets. But we do know some things and we can take educated guesses at others, so read on for all the information and theories on when you might see Android Lollipop on your device.

HTC

HTC has been more forthcoming with its update plans than most manufacturers and it's no surprise given how quickly it plans to bring the update to users. In a statement the company said: "HTC is excited about the new features in Android Lollipop and we can't wait to share them with our customers. We are committed to updating our flagship HTC One family as fast as possible. "We will begin rolling out updates to the HTC One (M8) and HTC One (M7) in regions worldwide within 90 days of receiving final software from Google, followed shortly thereafter by other One family members and select devices." Doing the mathematics that means the company's most recent two flagships should get Android Lollipop either at the end of the year or possibly in January of next year. We're going to go ahead and assume that most other HTC handsets released in the last year or so will also get the update at some point. As a general rule the more recent and high profile a device is the more likely it is to get an update, so the HTC Desire Eye will almost certainly be near the front of the line. The HTC One Mini 2, the HTC One Mini and perhaps the HTC One Max and some of the other recent Desire handsets are likely to get the update too, though probably not until sometime after the One M7 and the One M8. According to one leak, the One Mini 2 and Desire 816 will get Lollipop sometime in March/April, while the One Max, One Mini and Butterfly S have an expected Android 5.0 rollout of March-May.

Samsung

Samsung is yet to officially shed any light on when it will be bringing Android Lollipop to its phones, but there are sources saying its sooner rather than later. According to Sam Mobile, the Samsung Galaxy S5 could be in for an Android Lollipop release in December 2014. Given that networks can delay the rollout, there is always the possibility it won't reach devices until January 2015. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 arrived too early to launch with Android Lollipop, but it will likely be updated quickly, although there's been no word - official or otherwise - on this so far. The Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 3 are also likely to get the update very shortly after it launches, probably within the same sort of several month timeframe as HTC is operating under. Other Samsung handsets may have to wait a little longer, however we'd expect that most high profile devices released in the last 18 months to 2 years will get the update, including the Samsung Galaxy S4, the Galaxy S4 Mini and the Galaxy S5 Mini. We doubt that the Samsung Galaxy S3 or anything older will get Android Lollipop. It's a device that's already over two years old and some versions of it didn't even get Android 4.4. Samsung doesn't seem great at updating its tablets either. There's a good chance recent slates like its Note Pro and Tab S ranges and even the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 will get Android Lollipop but anything older or low end is iffy.

Google

Whilst Android Lollipop was announced at Google's IO event, it was simply known as Android L. Since then there were a lot of rumors swirling about that sweet-themed name Google would go for. These rumors were finally put to rest during Google's launch of the Nexus 6, where Android Lollipop was officially confirmed as the name for Android 5.0. The Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 will be Google's first devices to come with Android Lollipop, but these aren't the only Nexus products which will get the latest sweet treat. Android 5.0 Lollipop will also be available on the Nexus 4, 5, 7, 10 and Google Play edition devices in the coming weeks. This week, two software updates for Asus-made tablets have been certified by Bluetooth, indicating that Lollipop isn't far away. The two tablets are the Asus K008 and the Asus ME370T or, the Nexus 7 (2013) and the Asus MEMO tablet that went on to become the first Nexus 7 back in 2012. While Bluetooth certification doesn't give us an exact date, a source speaking to Android Police, seems to believe the OTA update will arrive on November 3. There seems to be some suggestion that the Nexus 10 tablet will also receive its OTA update on November 3. Any Nexus devices older than these are all but guaranteed not to get it, meaning that Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S owners are plum out of luck.

Sony

Sony has openly declared that it will be "bringing Android 5.0 Lollipop to the entire Xperia Z Series." It's even published a full list of handsets which are in line for Android Lollipop, so here we go...Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. It's worth noting that the Sony Z Ultra Google Play edition will be first in line, but Sony is yet to reveal an exact date for the update. As to when Sony will start rolling out the update to its main line of devices, the manufacturer has said "We'll start the upgrade at the beginning of 2015 for the core Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 series – continuing thereafter for all remaining devices above."

HTC recently announced the Desire 616 Dual SIM along with E8 with a price tag of Rs. 16,990, given the platform created by the high sales of HTC One M8 and Desire 816, the E8 and Desire 616 Dual SIM are very much expected to keep up the performance of the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC. Look and Feel

The HTC Desire 616 Dual SIM is made up of a glossy cheap plastic which tends to get the finger impressions on it. The overall design seems to be good and it fits perfectly in one hand because of the curved design on the sides. There is a strip of good looking matte plastic. above the screen and also in the sides but it looks inconsistent as the strip is not present below the device. The curved look on the sides and back make the smartphone look much slim (slimmer than its actual girth of 9.15mm) and comfortable to hold. The design is actually borrowed from Desire 816.

Display

The Desire 616 carries a 5 Inch screen with a resolution of 720X1280 which gives us a pixel density of around 294 ppi. The on screen buttons use a lot of space but as the device carries a 5 Inch screen so that does not create any sought os problem. The screen does not provide a good viewing angle so if the device is viewed at any angle other than 90 degrees the colors gets DE saturated. The screen when touched leaves a mark on it which becomes irritating at times. The colors on screen give a pleasant warm tone and brightness levels are also decent.

Camera- Rear and Front

We had good expectations from the HTC desire 616 camera but it could not actually stand up to those, well actually this is not justified as I was using HTC One M8 before this. So the camera performs well good light conditions but the images suffer a lot under low light conditions. Though the camera app does not have a lot of features but it does provide the features that one uses in daily life, which is sufficient. Some times in the day light pictures the noise disturbs the quality but the colors remain natural. Coming to the 2 MP front camera it just serves the purpose and does not result in good quality selfie.

Performance

The phone performs well in the day to day usage and the battery back back is upto the level. Multiple apps can be used without any problem or stutter. The Octa core processor keeps the phone running at a good speed and the phone scores really well in the benchmark test, for Antutu it scored 23,272 while in Quadrant it got 12,185 . We tried playing a couple of soft games initialy like Subway Surfer and then a few heavy games like Asphalt, the phone worked. Playing full HD videos on the device was also smooth but at times it missed frames. Even in a heavy usage the smartphone managed to run for about 6 hours and then died.

Verdict

The HTC Desire 616 carries a good body and gives good feel when held, the performance is also upto the mark, with phones like Xiaomi Mi3 and Asus Zenfone 5, it would be a bit hard for HTC to push this smartphone in the market not because they don’t offer better features but they offer the similar features at a much lower price.

Another quad core powered handset from Samsung Mobile – The Grand Prime will hit the stores in the next two days with a price tag of Rs. 15,250. This is a dual SIM handset with 3G support.

The Butterfly series may not be the bread winner for HTC but has proven to be among the most resourceful in the family. The HTC Butterfly 2 has a good foundation to build on: a solid screen, the trademark stereo speakers and HTC Sense 6.

HTC, who typically can't be bothered to care much about the midrange, have a four-headed monster at the top. The One (M8) is obviously in charge, with a fresh Windows Phone version in tow. The more affordable HTC One (E8) trades the metal outfit for polycarbonate but keeps most of the worthwhile specs, and even adds a more capable 13MP camera. The HTC Butterfly 2 is the last piece of the puzzle and the question is do they really need another piece of the same size.

The third installment in the Butterfly series adds dust and water resistance to what the One (E8) offers as well as a Duo camera setup with a 13MP primary sensor - a first for the company. And that might be just enough to emerge as HTC's most viable option against competing flagships like the Galaxy S5 and Sony's Xperia Z line.

The HTC Butterfly 2 is dust-protected and can go up to 1m deep underwater for 30 minutes and manages to do so with no protective flaps over the 3.5mm headphone jack or the microUSB 2.0 port. Here's goes the complete package.

The HTC Butterfly 2 ticks most of the boxes for an Android flagship in 2014 - the Snapdragon 801 is still more than relevant, the camera has a sufficient amount of pixels, the display is of ample size and 1080p resolution. The waterproofing has been steadily climbing from a gimmick to a sought-after feature. The only downgrade is the battery size - down from 3,200mAh in the Butterfly S. The current 2,700mAh is still slightly more than what the E8 has - and the battery life there was reasonably good.

Currently the HTC Butterfly 2 is mostly bound to markets outside Europe and US, so it's not standing in One M8's way. HTC has an impressive track record of gorgeous flagships, which however struggle to bring the much needed cash in. So who knows, the cheaper backups may be all they need to turn the trend around.

Even without the IP57 certification, the Butterfly 2 is a perfectly viable - and sufficiently fresh -alternative to the flagship. That said, being able to take the Butterfly 2 underwater for some cool snaps is nothing to frown at - and it's less of a hassle without the water-repellent flaps we so hate. So perhaps the Butterfly 2 has a good chance to impress. All it needs to do now is be as good as the HTC One (E8) and put on an acceptable price tag.

Finally, you can set Hindi as the system language in iOS. Go to Settings > General > Language & Region > iPhone Language > Hindi. This doesn't just change the keyboard, but the entire UI as well.

Hide keyboard prediction by swiping down

Speaking of keyboards, if you don't like the word predictions that pop up above the keyboard, you can quickly hide them. Just place your finger on the predictions and swipe down. To reveal these again, swipe up in the same place.

Hide images from Photos app

Images and videos in the Photos app can now be hidden from the Moments, Collections, and Years view in the Photos app.  Holding your finger on a photo will bring up an options menu and selecting "Hide" will keep it from being visible in those sections. Hidden photos are still visible in the albums view, however, in new "Hidden" album.

DuckDuckGo

You can now set privacy-focussed search engine DuckDuckGo as default in Safari. Tap Settings > Safari > Search Engines > DuckDuckGo.

Zoom controls

iOS 8 has advanced zoom controls. While this feature has been designed for the visually impaired, it's quite useful when you want to zoom in apps that don't support it (such as Instagram). Head to Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom. Now turn on Zoom and Show Controller. After this, double tap with three fingers anywhere in iOS and you'll see a pop up that lets you zoom in and out. Drag three fingers on the screen to move round the screen.

iOS 8 includes an option for WiFi calling, allowing you to place phone calls over WiFi when connected to a WiFi network, which is handy when your carrier signal is low. Several carriers, including T-Mobile, have already announced support for the feature. As of iOS 8 beta 3, this feature is available for T-Mobile users. In beta 5, when WiFi calling is enabled, it is labeled T-Mobile WiFi at the top of the iPhone screen.

Reply to messages without changing screens

Previously, if you were using an app and received a text message, you’d need to exit the screen you were on in order to reply. iOS 8 eliminates this irritating feature; simply swipe down on the banner that appears when a message comes through, and enter a quick response without leaving the screen.

Easily recover deleted photos

In iOS 8, when the preview icon at the bottom of the screen in the camera app is tapped, it opens up a view that allows you to recover deleted photos. To clear this menu, you can simply empty the ‘Recently Deleted’ album in the Photos app.

Create a blank home screen

iOS 8 lets you go minimalist on the home screen. Just move all icons to the next home screen and you can finally create a blank home screen. This is really not useful, unless you want to make sure people can check out your cool wallpaper.

Mail gestures

The Mail app in iOS 8 has some nice new gestures. Open your inbox and try a short right swipe on any mail to reveal a Mark as Unread option. Swipe to the left to reveal three options - More, Flag and Archive. You can change swipe actions by going to Settings > Mail > Swipe Options.
